Le Boeuf sur le Toit is part of the list of famous Parisian brasseries that had its heyday during the 1920s.

During this time, Le Bœuf was one of the places where Tout Paris would gather to dance and celebrate the Roaring Twenties. This venue became a late-night meeting spot for musicians and singers.

Le Boeuf has recently been successfully renovated. The restoration of the Art Deco decor is beautiful, and the cuisine stays true to the traditional dishes of French brasseries. More importantly, the restaurant, faithful to its past, offers a dinner/jazz experience every Friday from 9 PM until midnight.

We believe this brasserie deserves to be known. It is close to the Champs Elysées, a large, comfortable, and elegant restaurant. The cuisine may not be classified as gourmet, but it is honest. The dinner/jazz proposal is always an enjoyable experience.

The menu offers a dish starting at 31 euros, including an appetizer, main course, and dessert (not valid on the eve of and public holidays).

Example of the current menu: appetizer of soft-boiled eggs with porcini mushrooms, Charolais beef tartare, fries, and crème brûlée.

The name of the restaurant is inspired by Brazil. Darius Milhaud, a French composer, lived in Brazil from 1917 to 1918 as the secretary of the French embassy when Paul Claudel was the ambassador. Enchanted by Brazilian music, the composer drew inspiration from a song called 'O Boi no Telhado' to create a musical titled Le Boeuf sur le Toit. Later, a cabaret/restaurant frequented by musicians moved to a new location on rue du Colisée and adopted the name of the musical.

Le Boeuf sur le Toit: 34 rue du Colisée, 75008. Open every day from 12 PM to 3 PM and from 7 PM to 11 PM (until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays).
