Overview
In another location on boulevard Haussmann - at number 35 - the Galeries Lafayette Gourmet and Maison occupy an entire building.
Galerie Lafayette Gourmet: Ground Floor - How to Explore
Galerie Lafayette Gourmet: Ground Floor - How to Explore
We love the ground floor of the Lafayette Gourmet. Living nearby, we often have lunch here and take the opportunity to buy products like 95% cocoa chocolates, Petrossian smoked salmon, etc.
The selection of chefs present on the ground and lower floors is impeccable. Right at the entrance, we have the list with their names. They all are among the best professionals in Paris. Our favorite stands are:
- the chocolates of Alain Ducasse and Jean Paul Hévin. At Jean Paul Hévin's stand, besides his delicious chocolates, we recommend trying the marrons glacés or the marrons confits, Portuguese chestnuts cooked and candied. Delicious;
- the éclairs from Éclair de Génie, one of the best in the city;
- the sweets, pastries, and savory tarts from Yann Couvreur. We always buy the savory pies and serve them with salad;
- the macarons from Pierre Hermé, among the tastiest in Paris.
On the ground floor, our favorite restaurants are:
- the counter of 5 Jotas, where we can taste delicious ham or ham croquettes around a good wine;
- at the Maison de la Truffe counter we order various truffle products and accompany them with a glass of champagne;
- and we also enjoy the restaurant of Petrossian where we order smoked salmon with blinis and rich sour cream.

Galerie Lafayette Gourmet: Lower Level - How to Explore
In the lower level, you will find:
- the market with fruits, salads, and vegetables;
- the épicerie/delicatessen with a selection of the best French and international products;
- the Fish Point, a fish market and at the same time a restaurant serving fresh fish and seafood;
- the Steak Point, run by Paris's best butcher where we can buy or taste top-quality meats. This steak point is our favorite restaurant on the lower level.
Galerie Lafayette Maison: First Floor - How to Explore
Galerie Lafayette Maison: First Floor - How to Explore
The first floor is a kind of gourmet food court: featuring a series of small restaurants by new French chefs serving street food-inspired dishes. Everything is very well made on-site with quality products using the best savoir-faire of French cuisine, nothing like industrial fast food. Click here for our specific article.
Part of the 1st floor is occupied by Duclot La Cave, one of the best wine shops in Paris, which also has a bar where you can taste the wines sold accompanied by cheese and cold cuts.
Duclot La Cave
Please note, this tasting is temporarily suspended and will resume in spring 2024.
At the end of 2019, we had a wine tasting at Duclot La Cave and reported our experience in the article Wine Tasting in Paris: How to Taste, Where, When, and Discounts, click here to read this article.
I can summarize it as follows: of all the wine tastings I have done since moving here in 1983, this was the best-organized, fun, relaxed, and generous experience.

Galerie Lafayette Maison: Second and Third Floors - How to Explore
