Plan New Year's Eve in Paris: flight+hotel offers and tours

As at any other time of the year, the cost of a hotel in the centre can be prohibitive, at this time prices are further inflated. Our advice is therefore to choose a hotel located in a slightly peripheral area, but perhaps close to a bus stop or metro station. Parisian public transport is quite efficient and its operation is guaranteed even on festive days until late at night.

What to do on New Year's Eve: programme and events

It is a tradition in Paris to take to the streets and squares after dinner to exchange greetings and celebrate with friends. The scenery is dreamy, with shop windows adorned with garlands and bright decorations, trees and avenues decorated with characteristic Christmas lights. The options to worthily welcome the New Year, however, are not limited to street celebrations, so we have selected three great alternatives for all tastes.

1 - Paris on the square: Champs-Élysées

arc de triomphe arco triomphe New Year's Eve in the square in Paris is a sparkling and fun party, to be spent alongside many French people but also surrounded by people from all over the world. At the Champs-Élysées, the big party starts as early as 9 p.m.: our advice is to arrive a little earlier than 9 p.m., perhaps as early as the late afternoon, in order to avoid the worst crowds and to take advantage of the free opening of the metro, from 5 p.m. on 31 December and 12 noon on 1 January. As a reminder, all metro lines remain in service all night. The fixed programme of the last few years, organised by the City Council, is a magical celebration revolving around one of the most beautiful monuments in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe. From 11 p.m. until 1 a.m., you can enjoy an unmissable spectacle featuring light games and video projections, all completely free of charge. The evening also includes the big New Year's Eve parade with floats, fanfares and animations through the Champs-Elysées, staged from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on 1 January.

2 - New Year's Eve on the Seine

parigi ponte francia fiume senna If you have chosen Paris to celebrate New Year's Eve but want to avoid the crowds in the squares and clubs, you can choose a romantic dinner cruise on the Seine, on one of the many Bateaux Mouches. This solution is particularly suitable for couples, who will have the opportunity to take part in an itinerant party around the city with great food, champagne and the company of that special someone. The boats offering this possibility are operated by the Bateaux-Mouches company. The programme includes dinner, with a classical music atmosphere, and return at 2 a.m. for a total of €390.00 per person. The meeting point for departure is at Pont de l'Alma 32, Port de la Conférence (Rive Droite), at least one hour before departure, which is at 8.30 pm. To get to the embarkation point, you can take metro 9 and get off at the Alma-Marceau stop, or bus 63 and get off at the Jean Nicot - Eglise Americaine stop.

3 - Parisian cabaret evening

rouge moulin parigi mulino rosso New Year's Eve at the Moulin Rouge, located on Boulevard de Clichy at number 82, offers a programme that includes dinner and the Revue Féerie show starting at 7 p.m. Accompanied by the Moulin Rouge Orchestra, your dinner will be followed by the declaration of wishes and the show. The evening does not end there! Starting at 2 a.m., the dancing event with DJ set will begin. The programme is tempting but the fare is not exactly cheap: if you manage to find a free seat, it will cost you a whopping €750.00.
